“AREANATejo promotes the Regional Conference of the EUROPA Project.”

Taking advantage of World Energy Day, AREANATejo organised the «Energy Efficiency in the Residential Sector and Measures to Fight Energy Poverty» event on May 29th in Portalegre.

The EUROPA Regional Conference took place in the morning and began with the presentation of the project’s main results in the Alto Alentejo pilot area.

This was followed by the presentation of similar projects in the field of improving energy efficiency and fighting energy poverty in the residential sector, such as:

•  Seia Energy Savings Store (and the importance of the community in improving the energy efficiency of cities) – understanding the energy bill, choosing the best tariff and supplier, making an energy-saving plan, or finding construction solutions that improve the performance of our homes, make up the offer of the service available free of charge to the inhabitants of Seia.
• Transition Point Pilot Project – a face-to-face service space that works in a reused shipping container, which can be moved between municipalities depending on the project’s needs. With the support of a qualified expert, Transition Point provides advisory services to the local population and free housing assessments.

Finally, the Round Table “Measures to Fight Energy Poverty in Alto Alentejo” was fostered, with the participation of entities such as DECO, COOPÉRNICO and ODSLocal Platform, where significant points were discussed. There was also a presentation of the results of the European Projects «STEP – Solutions to Fight Energy Poverty» and POWERPOOR.

It was a very fruitful and exciting morning, with plenty of synergy opportunities and around 70 people joined both in-person and online.
